KTM

The KTM factory will be at home during the first two weekends of August which will see MotoGP set up at the Red Bull Ring site. A track which will first host the Styrian Grand Prix and then it will be the turn of the Austrian one. Last year, Miguel Oliveira with his RC16 put an end to the Ducati domination verified since the return of the Spielberg track to the calendar in 2016. The local motorcycles will therefore be taken seriously and this exhibition should also be an opportunity to make some announcements...

KTM will not miss these two stages on his land and also in front of his public since the stands are expected to be occupied without a health gauge. An event in this world after which it will be necessary to mark on the track and behind the scenes. For the latter, the deafening rumor of a Raul fernandez settling down at Tech3 to continue their professional cohabitation, already underway with Remy gardner in Moto2, should be quickly confirmed. Danilo Petruccii, until now unconvincing but still a double winner in MotoGP, must already think about a plan B, just like Iker Lecuona.

KTM has long-term plans with both talents placed with Hervé Poncharal, and their contracts should therefore include options for 2023 and 2024. Deadlines which are also current for the incumbent pilots Brad Binder et Miguel Oliveira. The first city already has its contract until 2024, just like Marc Marquez at Honda. For the second one mentioned, he's definitely the boss Stefan pierer which explains the situation: “ the KTM contract with Miguel for 2022 is still on anyway. And I guess nothing will change after this ».

“KTM is like family”

The director of KTM Motorsport, Pete Beirer, revealed on speedweek : " we have a unilateral option on Miguel for 2023 and 2024 ". The 26-year-old Portuguese is therefore well anchored at the Mattighofen factory. We can therefore move forward without being too mistaken that the duo Olive tree et Binder will form the Red Bull Factory Racing Team after 2020, 2021 and 2022 also in 2023 and 2024…

« I try to work with drivers who have been with us as long as possible and who represent our brand. KTM is like family ", ended Stefan Pierer, the boss of the company. “ We now have a very special relationship with riders like Oliveira and Binder, who have been riding for us for a decade ».
