La press conference formalizing Valentino Rossi's final season in MotoGP having taken place just before the official press conference of the Styrian Grand Prix, the first thing that was asked of Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco was to react to this news…

fabio quartararo : " It's hard to believe, because he was already a two-time world champion before I was born. We still run with him and there is a certain sadness to think that he won't run with us next year. He's really the guy who made me want to become a MotoGP rider when I was a kid, watching him, waiting for hours in front of his hospitality to get a photo! For me, he is the legend of this sport and he had an incredible career. I think he's the legend and he's still my idol. I have no words to describe it. »

Johann zarco : " It will be strange but “thanks Vale!” » for what he gave. He changed the image of motorcycle racing during the 2000s, and even now, when you talk about motorcycles with someone who knows nothing about it, they can simply say “Valentino Rossi”. That means something! We expected that there would come a day when he would say “stop!” ”, and it came. It's just fantastic because he stayed so long that we got to see him on TV and become our idol and then run with him. I don't think many athletes have stayed long enough to make some children's dreams come true. Thank you for what he gave, and I think his way of running will always remain his own because he always had a different approach than most. »
