Davide Brivio

At Suzuki, the start of the 2022 season is planned with a GSX-RR which has evolved in the right direction but with an organization chart that is still incomplete. The famous team manager box, recognized as strategic and essential by the Sahara project manager who tried it for a year, to the point of exhaustion, remains empty. And given the circumstances and the deadlines now set, it seems that it will remain so. An outcome that won't make anyone laugh in the Hamamatsu brand's box and especially not the drivers Alex Rins and Joan Mir...

Davide Brivio was perhaps hoped for a smashing return to the box Suzuki to regain his former functions as team manager, and this was a strong wish of the drivers Joan mir et Alex Rins. But that won't happen. Indeed, the Alpine Formula 1 team has just presented itself and we discover in the organization a Davide Brivio with the high-sounding title of “Director of Racing Expansion Projects”.

One of the ambitions of Suzuki for this 2022 season of MotoGP is therefore for the moment failed. The first was to present a GSX-RR better equipped to fight the Ducati. And offseason testing seemed to reveal that the goal had been achieved. On the other hand, for the second, which was to find a team manager, it is for the moment a flop. “ I miss Davide Brivio, I have to be honest " commented alex rins about it. “ I'm pushing hard for him to come back here, but the Suzuki bosses don't tell me anything ».

Without Brivio, Suzuki remains stuck in the water

Shinichi Sahara took the risk of not seizing the opportunities that presented themselves by betting on a Davide Brivio back home. The Italian, however, had warned that he was still under contract with Alpine in Formula 1 and that his return to the head of the Suzuki team in MotoGP was not part of the hypotheses considered. It must now be definitively ruled out. What will Suzuki decide now? We will remember that the same Sahara declared at the end of 2021 that he no longer wanted to take on this role, having realized that it was the job of a specialist… Livio Suppo, Racing Consultant could be the one, having the favors of Joan mir.
