You don't fall asleep in MotoGP. Each manufacturer has been adding something new since the day after the last Catalan Grand Prix. And Suzuki is not left out. Would Davide Brivio, who asked Hamamatsu for greater investment and constant mobilization, have been heard in Japan? We would say so, which makes Álex Rins even more formidable in the title race…

When the GSX-RR was taken to the top of the Grand Prix of the Americas podium by Alex Rins, Suzuki recognized that his goal for the season had just been achieved. Davide Brivio, the man of the brand on the ground, nevertheless hammered home that things were only just beginning, and that we had to continue to work and invest.

Here we are on the eve of Assen, the eighth meeting on the calendar with a Alex Rins third in the championship. After Catalonia, a test day took place where the Spaniard was able to test the new chassis brought from Japan which had been evaluated during the race in Montmeló by the invited test driver, Sylvain Guintoli. We now learn that this new opus will be traveling to the Netherlands.

« We gained a lot of information from Sylvain and Alex, who both tried our new modified chassis " said Ken Kawauchi, technical Manager. “ During a race weekend it is difficult to properly test new parts and settings. This is why these test days are really important and useful ».

Kidneys, fourth in the Catalan race, put in a few quick laps on the standard GSX-RR chassis to lead the timesheets for much of the day, before trying out the new design. Although the modified framework offers improvements in braking, it has come at a cost in other areas, hence his caution in making the final decision.

« I found that the modified chassis had many positive points, but I would also like to improve some things about it " said Kidneys. “ There's not much to change, but we'll evaluate it further to try to get the most out of it. ».
