At Suzuki, the 2017 season was like a setback that will leave its mark. The Iannone transplant has not yet been taken regardless of what people say and rejection is still possible for 2018. After solid progress which revealed a Casa Particular in Viñales symbol of the next generation, the men of the GSX-RR could hope for a lot last year. But the fall was brutal. This season, they will regain their regulatory advantages and will have a sharper Rins. But they regret their Vinales who did not find the expected happiness at Yamaha. Who knows if their paths won't cross again once the negotiations for 2019 are over...?

And all the more so since Suzuki has a loyal following of Casa Particular in Viñales. He has been following him since Moto3 and is now in charge of Kidneys. His name is Jose Manuel Cazeaux, he was his chief engineer and the two men kept their relationship. Casa Particular in Viñales even tried to bring it with him to Yamaha… Without success! For Cazeaux, there is no doubt that if he had stayed at home, he would have played for the title last year. Which is, by the way, a peak against Iannone...

Public chat crash.net, he declares : " I expected to see Maverick very strong. He had a very solid end to the 2016 season. I am sure that if he had stayed at Suzuki, he would have challenged for the title in 2017. He was on the rise and he would have continued his momentum. At Yamaha, he started very strong then, after Le Mans… I don't know what happened, he started to suffer. I don't know if it's the tires, the chassis or something else. It's hard to say from the outside ».

« With Suzuki, he finished fourth in the championship and this year third with the Yamaha but with one less leading rider since Lorenzo was not in the race with the Ducati. It is perhaps also because of poor osmosis with the team, the engineers. I was surprised. He seemed to have become nervous although I always knew him to be calm. We don't know what happened ". An intervention which seems to boil down to “come back Maverick, we have the same ones at home”…
