If the history of the French Tech3 team is already rich enough to put a good part of it on paper, it is far from over!

It's not because the men from Bormes-les-Mimosas celebrated their 30th season in the world championship this year with two MotoGP victories that they are thinking of putting on their slippers to watch the Grands Prix on television...

It's not the type of house, and Hervé Poncharal, at the head of this unique structure in the history of French motorcycles, was the first to tell us about it in an interview that we will publish later.

Driven by a passion for competition, the Tech3 Racing team will still be present on all circuits around the world until 2026! At least…

Hervé Poncharal : “The contracts that bind the promoter, Dorna, to the teams and manufacturers run for five years, so with the current contract expiring at the end of 2021, it is completely normal that we prepare the next lease which will run from 2022 to 2026. I can inform you that Tech3 has just signed the contract which will link it with Dorna for the period 2022 to 2026. We are therefore committed with two places in MotoGP from 2022 to 2026, as committed, according to my information, all existing teams. Tech3 will therefore be there until the end of 2026.”

“We have a contract with our current partners, KTM but also Red Bull and Elf until the end of 2021, so of course we are in the process of discussing with these partners to find out if they wish to continue after the expiration of the contract which binds us to them. All I can say is that the first discussion is first with the motorcycle manufacturer. »

“We haven't signed anything yet but the desire of Stefan Pierer and the entire KTM management, and of course that of Tech3, is to continue together as long as possible. The idea, the desire and the dream would be that we sign for the five years to which we have already committed with Dorna, that is to say to complete the next lease in full from 2022 to 2026 with KTM with a single contract. It would be ideal to do a single five-year contract, instead of doing one for two years and then one for three years later. »

“I have always thought that success also comes from the sustainability of collaborations. The whole Tech3 team and I are very happy to work with KTM, and I think the opposite is true, so why not? In any case, this is the wish, both of the factory and of Tech3! »
