Raul Fernandez, Davide Brivio

The return date for the first of the three victims of the Sepang Test is now known. As announced by his team principal, Davide Brivio, Trackhouse Racing driver Raul Fernandez will attempt to drive again next week, during the last two days of pre-season testing, in Buriram (February 12 and 13).

Raul Fernandez, one of three injured after the first day of the Test in Malaysia earlier in the week, had travelled back to Europe earlier than expected to undergo surgery on his left hand.

The operation went well, and it seems that the Spaniard could return to competition sooner than expected. During the official presentation of MotoGP, which was held in Bangkok this Sunday, Davide Brivio assured that his rider would try to take part in the pre-season tests in Thailand.

"Raul is doing well. He had surgery on his hand, and I can tell you something new, announces the Italian in front of the Bangkok public. He's trying to come. He'll arrive in Thailand tomorrow, and he'll try to take part in the Test in a few days. Obviously it'll be difficult, but it would be good for him to do a few laps before the start of the season. We're trying to have him in good shape here."

So nothing is certain, and the possible pains the rider experiences on his MotoGP could force him to give up along the way. Raul Fernandez will at least have the merit of trying.

For the rest, Trackhouse Racing is focusing on the preparation of Ai Ogura, the reigning Moto2 world champion who is one of the three rookies for the 2025 MotoGP season. On this subject, the transalpine team manager also shows a certain confidence.

"No goal, but after these six days in Sepang with Ai Ogura, it is very interesting and exciting to work with a young rider, who is trying to learn and grow. He has a good approach to MotoGP, He continues. He is like a sponge, he tries to learn and understand as much as possible about everything. The competition is intense. It is difficult, but we try to prepare him as best we can."

As for the other injured players from the Malaysian Test, we already know that Jorge Martin has returned home to Andorra and will miss the Buriram Test to focus on a comeback for the first GP of the 2025 season, the weekend of March 02.
