Fermin Aldeguer

The three rookies of the 2025 MotoGP season continue to discover the discipline. After the Sepang tests, they have the opportunity to put their experience to good use on a new circuit, Buriram. However, not everything went as planned for Fermin Aldeguer, who did not find the keys to repeat the exploits achieved in Malaysia.

While Alex Marquez dominated most of the day in Thailand, his young teammate Fermin Aldeguer did not have the same success. Struggling on the Buriram circuit that he is discovering with a MotoGP, the Spaniard finished in 1:30.373, four tenths behind his teammate. A result that is far from satisfying him.

After this first day of action, the rookie recognizes that the facilities he had last week did not accompany him this week, on a track he likes less.

"It was a little bit more difficult than in Malaysia, but we can be happy, because lap after lap, I'm improving, and I understand the bike, confides Fermin Aldeguer at the end of the day in the after-show show, After The Flag. Here, the tires are different, and you have to adapt to that too. We work in our own way, calmly, concentrating only on myself."

Nothing to worry the main person concerned who is convinced that he has the right approach. He will therefore continue to progress calmly, with the aim of perfecting his preparation before the first race, which will take place on the same site.

"This circuit is not the best for me, he continues. I have a different driving style. But this morning, I was a little bit on the limit on the braking points, and that's important for this circuit. You have to take a reference, and always do the same thing. With calm, we work, and we'll get there.

Fermin Aldeguer nevertheless finished the session as the best rookie, ahead of Ai Ogura, 17th on his Aprilia, and Somkiat Chantra, who finished 20th on his Honda.
