Jack Miller

Australian Jack Miller roared Yamaha’s M1 into Buriram, emerging as the fastest rider in the blue house. Yet in the jungle of MotoGP, the M1s still seem to be finding their way. Miller, however, wears his 10th-place standard like a badge of honour after the first day.

The Australian pilot Jack Miller was satisfied with his first laps on the Yamaha à Buriram. Despite a 10th place, he highlighted the progress of the bike and his pleasure in riding this new machine.

Jack Miller showed good form on the first day of MotoGP testing at Buriram, rising to 10th place and becoming the fastest Yamaha rider of the day. However, the M1s still lag behind their rivals, such as Ducati et KTM. For Miller, 10th place is not a major cause for concern. Although he is still far from the leaders, with almost a second behind Marc Marquez, he managed to finish just 0,4 seconds behind Alex Marquez, which occupies second place.

« To be honest, we more or less started in Thailand after finishing in Malaysia – and it worked surprisingly well. Especially at the very beginning, when the conditions were still somewhat undefined, it worked very well. The base turned out to be very good" , has explained Miller. This positive impression continued throughout the day.

Jack Miller: “ I enjoyed every ride with the Yamaha »

I wish the entire Yamaha made some minor changes, mainly related to the springs, but this did not change the positive impression of Miller. “ I enjoyed every ride, the bike gives me great joy"

One of the highlights of the day for the driver Pramac Yamaha was the performance of the front of the bike. The front of the bike in particular is a very positive surprise.. Every time I go out on the track with a new front tire, I see how much potential there is still here. It gives me a lot of confidence. – and that’s exactly what I’ve been missing in recent years" he added, stressing that this characteristic gives him great confidence.

Miller also stressed that the Yamaha M1 seems to handle the heat well, a positive for the conditions Buriram. “ I think the Yamaha also works very well in the heat, The M1 handles extreme temperatures well. » However, the Australian driver identified a weakness, particularly when exiting a bend, linked to the electronics. There are a few slow spots here where this can be tested very well. Work will continue in this area on day two."

Despite these few adjustments to be made, Jack Miller ended the first day with a smile and a positive attitude, saying: “ The most important thing will be that I can be just as happy with my work on the slopes tomorrow."
