It is in trials that great men are revealed, and that is what he did. Marco Bezzecchi despite the weight on his shoulders of an Aprilia team decapitated on the first day of the MotoGP pre-season tests.

Of course, the Rimini rider has always enjoyed the Buriram track, but the task was difficult when, on his second day as an Aprilia factory rider, he found himself de facto captain of the Noale troops following the accident of Jorge Martin. New status, new team, new bike, all this was not enough to intimidate the Italian who, day after day, raised his head and rolled up his sleeves to conclude the test in Buriram, Thailand, in 3rd position. Hats off!

Once again, at the Chang International Circuit, just like in Sepang, the Aprilia RS-GP25 showed great potential. During the two days of testing, the last before the official start of the season in Buriram, Marco Bezzecchi worked on the new RS-GP25, confirming the quality of the work carried out by the Noale manufacturer.

On the first day of testing in Buriram, Marco Bezzecchi continued his work on fine-tuning and development, setting his best time of 1'29.794. On the final day of testing, the focus was on preparing for the first Grand Prix of the season, with two timed attacks, a sprint simulation, set-up tests and additional testing. Marco Bezzecchi finished the two days of testing in third place in the combined standings, with a best time of 1'29.060, 0,205s behind the fastest, Marc Marquez. And yet, he apparently could have done better…

“I’m happy. I’m happy, of course. We finally got to do two timed attacks in a row, like we did in Sepang, and we can’t complain. I have to adapt better, especially on the braking, because the bike is a bit more nervous with the new tyres, so I have to be more precise. That’s the main problem. Actually, I made a few small mistakes. Anyway, I’m happy because the lap time was good and I did it after a few laps because of the mistakes. So overall I have no complaints. So I’m very happy. We worked well and made a lot of progress. The bike is competitive and the 2025 engine works very well everywhere.” he said on the official website MotoGP.com.

On the last day of pre-season testing, the Aprilia rider outlines the main points.

“The first one in Sepang was a difficult day for all of us. For Jorge especially because of his injury, but also for me and for the team. I did my best, I tried to work in the best possible way. Of course, for me it was all new, it was a new experience, so I didn’t really know what to do at the beginning, but fortunately the people around me, and the whole factory, really put a lot of confidence in me, in my riding and in my comments, and that gave me positive feelings, positive vibes. And then as the days went by, I saw that I was improving, which allowed me to increase my confidence a little bit. Let’s say that we have to understand that it’s not going to be easy throughout the season, but with this mindset, everything can be at least positive, because we can learn something. So we’ll see what happens today, in the afternoon first of all.” Then we will finally start running, because testing is too boring (laughs)!”

As for Jorge Martín, his rehabilitation program following the operation on his right hand is progressing as planned. He will continue to work over the next week in order to be fully prepared after the injury sustained during the trials in Malaysia.
