On this Monday, June 7, 2021, Brad Binder answered questions from journalists from the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit after the MotoGP test.

We went to listen (via teleconferencing software) to the words of the South African driver who concluded these tests in 12th position.

As usual, we report here the words of Brad Binder without the slightest formatting, even if it is translated from English.

Brad, how did this day of testing go?

« It was a really nice day. I really enjoyed riding the bike after yesterday. We managed to accumulate quite a few laps, and tried several little tricks, particularly with the idea of stabilizing the bike when entering a corner. We also had prototype parts. As usual there are positives and negatives, so you really have to look in detail to get a good idea of what awaits us next. »

The prototype parts you are talking about, are they intended to be used this year, or are they for next season?

« To be honest, it's more for next year, but we wanted to get an impression and have an opinion. This gives us a good idea of the direction taken. »

We often talk about “competitive spirit”. What does this notion mean to you and how do you put yourself in this state of mind?

« I honestly don't know! For me, when we're on a race weekend I tend to be a lot more reserved. I try to do things in my area, simply in the garage and with my guys. Refocusing on yourself and having fun, yes, that would be my definition of this state of mind. »

You said that you had basically been working towards next year. But what have you tried to improve for the rest of the season?

« It's hard to say, because we've tried quite a few things. Like I said, when you try new things there are always positives and negatives. I guess my role right now is to make the negatives more positive, and make the whole thing a little better. »
