With his Yamaha, Alex Rins concluded with the 14th best time a test session in Jerez marked by significant experiences on several new components of his Yamaha. Among them, a renovated aerodynamic package, a revisited chassis, and electronic advances. Rins was able to evaluate these innovations in direct comparison with his teammate, Fabio Quartararo, thus making it possible to identify the advantages and disadvantages of each configuration.

« These tests were really positive! » enthused Kidneys. " We tested different elements, including the aerodynamic package and the new chassis, while also working on the electronic aspect. Fabio used the old aerodynamics and I the new one, which allowed us to directly compare and collect valuable data. I'm really happy with the new aero package, it works well for me. However, he is not yet ready for Le Mans because engineers need more time to refine. Regarding the chassis, I didn't like it as much, so we still need to work on it"

Mayo Meregalli, team director Yamaha , also shared his analysis on this test day in Jerez : " we've brought a long list of items to test here, and we had to prioritize the most important ones: the aerodynamic package, the chassis, and certain electronic settings. Unfortunately, we were unable to test these earlier,” he explained.

Yamaha still wants to test before validating

He added : " We followed the test plan step by step, examining these elements thoroughly. Our focus remains on improving cornering handling with the chassis and aerodynamics. After Le Mans we plan to go to Mugello for hopefully two more days of testing to evaluate all the components again, because we want to ensure their effectiveness. The idea is to test these elements on several circuits to minimize errors"

Meregalli concluded with perspective: “ if the results of the two drivers during the private tests at Mugello are positive and they are satisfied, we will consider updating the bike at Barcelona GP or Mugello. » These remarks underline the commitment of Yamaha to continually optimize the performance of their machines based on feedback from drivers and the results obtained during tests.
