The Suzuki rider continued his MotoGP learning in Jerez and concluded this last 2018 test in a positive way.

After a violent fall during the first day of testing on the Jerez circuit which damaged him a little but nevertheless did not prevent him from taking the tenth time of the day, Joan mir returned to the track the next day to complete this last test of the year.

Although he did not develop the machine as much as his teammate Álex Rins and test rider Sylvain Guintoli due to his lack of MotoGP experience, the young Spanish rider nevertheless tried out the new engine as much as they did. and the new chassis and was thus able to give his impressions.

Less focused on the time, he finished the second day in fourteenth position, almost a second behind the best time, and in fifteenth place overall in the combined times of the two days. This last test of the year is therefore positive for the rookie who will continue to discover his machine next February on the Sepang track: “The day was very intense. We focused on testing the new elements because we need to prepare everything for winter, which will allow engineers to continue working in Japan. The day was quite positive, we tested a bit of everything and made some comparisons. In the end it was useful. We didn't focus on the times, but rather on testing the engine. We have lots of good information to send to Japan. I feel like I've progressed with each session. I still need to ride to get used to my MotoGP but it's going well. »
