Cal Crutchlow is known for not having his tongue in his pocket. For journalists, this is a godsend because it allows not only to have subjects that are generally as humorous as they are juicy, but above all to know a good part of the truth concerning the more or less direct entourage of the British pilot.

In Valencia, during the Grand Prix weekend and the first MotoGP 2020 tests, the spearhead of the LCR team had to manage the frustration of not taking the place of Jorge Lorenzo, a fall while running, the “theft” of three of its technicians as well as the physical problems linked to its very painful ankle.

Conversely, Cal Crutchlow was able to try a 2020 Honda prototype and leave the Ricardo Tormo circuit with the fourth time, the fastest of the “non-Yamaha”.

In Jerez de la Frontera, for the second round of MotoGP 2020 testing, the 34-year-old native of Coventry was not allowed to ride the 2020 prototypes which all appeared in the box. Marc Márquez.

From then on, the motivation hardly seemed overflowing, especially since the weather occasionally came to play spoilsport...

The number 35 therefore returns to California after achieving the 13th time of the second day of testing, or 10th in the combined ranking of the two days.

Cal Crutchlow : “the first day was very minimalist. We rode the 2019 machine and tested a few components that are easier to test with the 2019 bike because we already have a lot of information on that bike. But it was a difficult day because of the weather and the three red flags. We were quite satisfied with how the day went. We couldn't do too many laps because the weather wasn't fantastic. In a normal test we probably could have done 100 laps a day, but on the first day this time we only did about 14 laps and today only XNUMX. Overall , we are satisfied with the work we managed to accomplish but it is a real shame that the weather was so poor on both days. Over the winter we will work closely with the factory engineers to ensure we get the best possible package for the new season. »
