Marc Marquez tried to do his job on Monday in Jerez, during the test following a trying Spanish Grand Prix. A race that he finished ninth with this admission: “ I had decided to go faster on each lap, which I initially managed to do. Sometimes Viñales and I were the fastest on the track. With these lap times, however, I quickly noticed how much my body was deteriorating. With eight laps to go, I more or less gave up ».

Un Marc Marquez who admits to letting go is not a common thing. And yet, he still had to come to his senses on Monday, on the same route of Jerez during the test: “ my body didn't allow any more laps. I had problems with my neck and my right shoulder. It was a little better than after the race in Portugal. I really suffered there the next day. I felt better in Jerez ", said Marquez, who, despite his few laps, finished 16th, just one place behind his younger brother Alex.

In Andalusia, the eight-time champion fell several times during the weekend. “ Of course, Saturday's accident in particular didn't help my situation ", admits Márquez. " I tried it because I thought it would be better after the body warmed up. But I quickly realized that I wasn't at a good level and therefore couldn't really drive. I spoke to the team and we decided to abandon the test. It's a shame and it's hard, but that's how it is. I have to understand that I will only feel better little by little » declared the Spaniard.
