Toprak Razgatlioglu in the company of Yamaha and Honda with the Kalex chassis apparently did not make the trip for nothing to Jerez where two days of testing were also organized with Aprilia, which mobilized Savadori, and KTM represented by Dani Pedrosa in full preparation for the Spanish Grand Prix which will be contested on the same track. The Spaniard also achieved the best time…

A reference signed by the Spanish veteran in 1'37.8 after 70 laps completed and reported by the Spanish version of Motorsport.com. It will be remembered that during last year's FP1 race weekend, former Suzuki rider Joan mir had achieved the best time 1'38.194. The conditions were almost summer-like in Jerez, which also benefited Stefan Bradl who placed the Honda Kalex called “HRC 2” just 0,129 seconds behind the best time achieved by Dani Pedrosa.

To understand the value of this performance, it should be noted that with its other motorcycle “HRC 1” which was a pure Honda, the German was… One second slower! There is therefore a chance that the chassis Kalex either heading to Texas to be offered at the Repsol box in Austin in the next few hours…

Stefan Bradl: “It’s a bit of a departure from each other”

Toprak Razgatlioglu is on target

Et Toprak Razgatlioglu ? To answer from the outset, there were many positive faces in the Yamaha camp. Lynn Jarvis et Massimo Meregalli observed what was happening on site and they saw their 2021 WSBK world champion clocking a time under 1'40. It is certainly 1s7 slower than the reference Dani Pedrosa, who has always excelled in Jerez, but after 63 laps the Turk lost only 0,775 seconds to his colleague from the brand Cal Crutchlow.

We will recall that Franco Morbidelli completed a lap in 1'38.979 on his Yamaha, only six tenths of a second faster than Razgatlioglu for his first real experience in the dry. Yamaha had brought three motorbikes to Andalusia. The test pilot Cal Crutchlow used the “Yamaha 1” and “Yamaha 2” machines. At the end of the first day of testing, Crutchlow finds itself in fourth position. Toprak is eighth in the rankings for this test with the “Yamaha 3”. The pressure is on Franco Morbidelli which must therefore reproduce this weekend at Grand Prix of the Americas and in the others following what he showed in Argentina two weeks ago…
