Despite less hot and windier conditions than during the Spanish Grand Prix, Fabio Quartararo was able to take advantage of the official MotoGP IRTA test day at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto.

Waiting a new fairing that will arrive at Mugello, Yamaha had prepared a new front fender and a new swingarm that the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team rider was able to try, as well as the larger Brembo discs and some tuning updates that he didn't have was able to try it during the Grand Prix weekend on the Jerez de la Frontera track.

The Devil was very motivated to get back into action, knowing that he had several elements and settings to put to the test. He was therefore the first driver to hit the track at 10:00 a.m. and completed a total of 78 laps throughout the day to carry out his carefully crafted test plan. He secured third place with a time of 1'37.438s, 0.302s off first place, compared to his 01'36.623s set during Saturday's qualifying.

fabio quartararo : " I tried a new front fender, swingarm, and the larger Brembo rotors. I tried the swingarm twice, in succession, which took quite a while. We also tried last year's settings here, and that's it. It seems that the new swingarm is a little better when you look at the data, but the feeling is more or less the same. We'll start Le Mans with the standard swingarm, but if we have any doubts about rear grip, we'll keep in mind to try this one. We mainly tried the discs to prepare for circuits that are more difficult on the brakes, like Austria and Motegi. I've never used these discs before, and the feeling is a little different, so it was good to get used to it here. I adapted quite quickly. »

Massimo Meregalli : " We didn't have a very busy schedule for today, but we received a few items to try. We received a few small updates, one of them being the rear swingarm, which brought a little more feel. We tried a new front fender, mainly for the purpose of cooling water and oil for hotter racing. We also tested the larger Brembo front discs, which we had never had the chance to try before, in preparation for more brake-challenging circuits. And then, as usual, we tried to improve the settings little by little. I think the results are not bad. We gathered some good information, and we started preparing for the French GP. »
