Marco Bezzecchi

Marco Bezzecchi appears to be on the right track after testing in Qatar, having managed to overcome the doubts that haunted him since Sepang. His convincing performance at Losail allayed his initial concerns about his ability to fully exploit the Ducati GP23. Although he recognizes that there is still progress to be made, he is satisfied with the progress made during these two days of testing.

Marco Bezzecchi is aware that he still needs to work on his qualifying performance to get the most out of the bike, but he feels competitive in terms of race pace: “ Its very important and we definitely need to do something on the fast lap » concedes the “Bez”. “ We need to know more about the bike and that will come with time ».

Concerning its performance on a flying lap, Bezzecchi acknowledges that he needs to improve his ability to turn the bike quickly, despite the increased grip offered by the GP23 compared to the GP22. He remains optimistic about his ability to find solutions before the race weekend: “ we also need to make it run a little better, I struggle especially at fast speeds despite it having more grip than the GP22. This affects me a little, because then I can't take advantage of the new tire. We will definitely find something positive for the Grand Prix weekend ».

MotoGP, Bezzecchi: progress with the Ducati GP23

Marco Bezzecchi: “ compared to Malaysia, we have really taken a big step forward »

He notes the speed of the pilots as Pecco Bagnaia, Jorge Martin et Enea Bastianini, but is delighted with the proximity of the rest of the peloton, which gives him confidence for the future: “ I am happy with these two days of testing. Compared to Malaysia, we have really taken a big step forward. I'm not very satisfied with the timed lap, because I see that I still can't exploit the bike's potential. But in terms of rhythm, I'm not very far. Pecco, Martin and Bastianini were very fast, but after them we are all close. I am quite satisfied ».

Marco Bezzecchi is satisfied with the work accomplished at Losail, although he recognizes that it will still take time for him to fully master the Ducati GP23. In this regard, we will recall that, unlike his teammate Fabio DiGiannantonio, he was not able to immediately prove effective on his handlebars. His team will continue to analyze the data to enable him to be ready for the first race of the season which will take place from March 8 to 10 au Qatar.
