Pecco Bagnaia

The Misano tests offered an interesting insight into Ducati's priorities for the end of the season and next. While the Italian manufacturer seems to be prioritizing stability for the upcoming races, it is not neglecting the development of its bike for 2025, but its champion Pecco Bagnaia wants even more for the next rounds.

Ducati appears to have been one of the least active manufacturers in terms of development during the MotoGP tests in Misano on Monday, according to various sources. Davide Tardozzi indicated that the GP25 " does not exist " again, which suggests that the Italian manufacturer is not yet ready to introduce radical changes. As a result, the bikes tested were almost identical to those that raced at the San Marino Grand Prix the day before.

However, this does not mean that Ducati didn't try anything new. Pecco Bagnaia has been working on elements focused on the 2025 season, although it has not tested the new fairing which Jorge Martin et Enea Bastianini were able to try. bagnaia said his tests focused mainly on electronics and that although he saw potential, some of these solutions still require development before they can be used in racing.

Simon Crafar motogp.com also confirmed that Ducati had tested a new chassis, although the changes to the fairing's aerodynamics are minor, similar to those already seen at Silverstone. On the other hand, George Martin, who will join Aprilia next year, did not test any significant new parts and instead used the test to refine his riding and lap times.

Pecco Bagnaia: “ our bike still needs something to be better »

Franco Morbidelli worked on new ideas to improve the feel of the GP24, while Fabio DiGiannantonio was absent due to his recovery from a shoulder injury.

bagnaia expressed excitement about some of the potential improvements he tested, including acceleration and electronics. He mentioned that there could be updates for upcoming races in Asia, but that the improvements still need work before they are fully integrated.

The 2022 and 2023 champion commented: "I have worked a lot for 2025. I have not tried the fairing; I know that Jorge Martin and Bestia tried it, and they were happy. But I was very, very focused on other things, because our bike still needs something to be better ».

Although the new solution is not yet ready to run, bagnaia expressed his enthusiasm: “ Sadly, This is something that at the moment we cannot bring already this season. because it still needs to be developed a little – and I'm talking about the electronic side. But it's a good thing; I think we have more room to work with, more room with acceleration, and that's a good thing. ».

That said, the Italian does not completely rule out some updates for the next races. MotoGP in Asia: " It was difficult to understand something during the test, because with used or new tires the lap time was similar. But I think it's a good thing and I liked it.. Maybe for the last races, for abroad, we will have something that will help. " Only him?
