Misano

MotoGP isn't leaving the Adriatic coast just yet. This Monday, September 15, the riders return to the track at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for the final day of official testing of the 2025 season. A crucial event, both for manufacturers looking for benchmarks and for riders whose immediate futures may be decided here.

All eyes converge on Pecco Bagnaia, now a symbol of a crisis Ducati that is difficult to stop. Having left his home Grand Prix without a single point, the double world champion is desperately seeking answers about a GP25 that refuses to obey him.

« My patience is being tested " he admitted after Misano, an impression confirmed by Gigi Dall'Igna : " The situation with Pecco is really delicate; he is in difficulty. We will have to find a solution. »

Today's test could represent the final opportunity to break the downward spiral before the Asian tour. But at this stage of the season, bagnaia no longer fighting for the title — he is fighting to save his final podium against Bezzecchi, a direct threat to the rankings.

Yamaha and the V4: the bet on the future in testing at Misano

The other major focus of the day will undoubtedly be Yamaha and its V4 M1. After months of speculation and a first test run entrusted to Augusto Fernandez this weekend (14th in the race), the prototype will be entrusted to the regular drivers, fabio quartararo et alex rins.

It's more than just a ride: this test is seen as a decisive moment in Quartararo's futureDepending on his feelings and the potential of the machine, the Frenchman could adjust his ambitions beyond 2026. Yamaha here its technical credibility is at stake, in the face of Honda — the only other brand still authorized to develop its engine until 2026.

With engine development frozen for most manufacturers, 2026 will mark the end of a regulatory cycle. No major new developments are expected this Monday at Misano, but rather validations and adjustments that will serve as a basis for the off-season.

For Ducati, it is a survival test for bagnaia. For Yamaha , it is a test of the future for QuarterlyIn both cases, the stakes go beyond the simple framework of a day of tests: they condition the balance of forces between now and the end of the current era of MotoGP. P1 has taken place. The morning practice session ended with Alex Marquez's best time in 1'30"714 , before Bezzecchi et Marc Marquez . Acosta finished 4th, bagnaia 5th and Martin 6e. Quartararo and Miller tested the V4, and their goal was not yet to make times.

The work program at Aprilia

  • For official drivers, improvement work : electronic adjustment, adjustment and evaluation of other components
  • Testing some hardware elements on the motorcycle: Bezzecchi will try a frame already tested in the past in a specific configuration, but which Aprilia wishes to offer again because in the meantime the RS-GP has evolved.

The point at Yamaha with Maio Meregalli

Yamaha  focuses on the prototype V4 , tested this morning by Quarterly et Miller : " This is a new run-in; we're at the beginning of the project. Fabio and Jack's initial comments are the same. We asked the riders not to look at the lap times, but to concentrate on how the bike works.. » on his side, Gino Borsoi from the box Pramac commented : " LThe Moto V4 seems to have been born well ».
