Like the majority of MotoGP riders, Johann Zarco was able to benefit yesterday from the opportunity to discover the Portimao circuit on a production motorcycle.

He did it aboard his Ducati Panigale for a single day before heading to Paris for the French Grand Prix which will take place at Le Mans this weekend.

In the Frenchman's comments collected by the camera of the official site MotoGP.com, we feel a mixture of excitement and respect towards the very technical Portuguese route…

Like most regular drivers, he had not equipped his motorcycle with a transponder.

Johann zarco : " A great tour! We expected to have good grip, and that is the case with the new asphalt. It’s really good to drive on that. Afterwards, with all the turns, the climbs and the descents, it's very good. It's very good, but I think it's going to be hard with the MotoGP because we can't use all the power of the bike, because it's not a very small circuit, and it's even quite big, but the change in slope of the track is quite difficult to manage. But it's a lot of fun and very important to experience the track with the stock bike to get used to it, because with all these blind turns, you have to know the track perfectly to be relaxed on it. »
