On the circuit which is successful for him rather well (he even has the record!), despite an occasional passage in 7th position, Johann Zarco never seemed able to really lead the KTM troops. He says it himself, he quickly encountered a kind of hard point that he could not overcome, even when completing 53 laps, which was more than all his opponents.
The French driver therefore finished 1,7 seconds behind the fastest but, above all, 7/10 behind his teammate, his most direct opponent, although we do not know who used which tire...
Tomorrow will be another day, with probably a less slippery track than today, since it has been cleaned of desert sand and scrubbed by MotoGP tires, after last night's downpour.
Johann zarco : “We started at a better level than I expected, with a good pace, and we progressed step by step. We were sliding more here than in Malaysia and that made the bike handle differently; I was very happy at the beginning, but we got to a point where we couldn't improve anymore, and I didn't find a better feeling. I hope we can find the solution tomorrow and move faster and faster. We have a lot of things to test and not too many hours for it. I just want to feel good and improve. Tomorrow I will analyze and maybe see what I did wrong.”
