The Yamaha Petronas rider continues his tests just as positively as in Malaysia, and is satisfied with this second day in Qatar.

With 70 laps on the clock, Franco Morbidelli was the hardest-working driver on the track today. The Italian seems to continue in the same dynamic as at Sepang, where he was in the top places most of the time. He therefore concluded this second day at Losail in fourth position, after being ranked fifth yesterday.

These first two days saw him test the new tires, the results of which seemed to be there. The chassis and the entire aerodynamic side were also at the heart of the work carried out, before considering carrying out a race simulation tomorrow.

“Today we were pretty quick and we were able to have a good pace on the medium tire, but we also tested the hard and soft. The medium and soft are quite similar in terms of performance, so it will be important to make the right choice on race day”, he explained.

“A little later in the evening it was quite humid and it was more difficult to put in a good lap, but overall I felt a little better, more comfortable on the bike and more consistent. This afternoon we worked on my speed and it seems good but we will have to see how it performs in the race. »

With Fabio Quartararo in first position and Maverick Viñales in third place, without forgetting Valentino Rossi who moved to the top of the rankings during the day, the Yamahas are really in good shape during this pre-season, just like the Suzukis. It remains to be seen whether all this will be confirmed tomorrow and especially during the first Grand Prix of the season, in two weeks.
