Second at the end of testing in Malaysia a fortnight ago, 19th at the end of the first day of the last pre-season MotoGP test session in Qatar, Cal Crutchlow hoped to take advantage of the second day to improve his feeling and adjust at least partially the problems of his RC213V when braking and entering corners.

Unfortunately, after returning to the track late and having completed 27 laps during 5 runs crowned by a time of 1'56.178, the LCR Honda Castrol team driver crashed in the infamous turn #2 on the left.

His injuries and pain in his arms then led him and the team to interrupt their work for the evening, with the hoped-for goal of being able to return to the fray for the final practice session on Sunday.

When it doesn't want, it doesn't want!

Cal Crutchlow : “After 27 laps today, I unfortunately crashed at the second corner and I have a hematoma on my right forearm and abrasions on both arms. So we decided to stop the test today because I am in a lot of pain. At the time, I couldn't move my fingers because the swelling was immediately very severe. Since then, we have mainly tried to reduce the swelling in the right forearm and prevent it from getting worse. We hope that with a little rest we can see if we are able to take part in the final day of testing tomorrow. »

“Before the incident, we had worked hard to improve the settings of the bike and my feeling with it compared to yesterday. We haven't really had a chance to finish this work, so I hope to be able to ride tomorrow because we know there are things we can do to improve the feeling, and with that our time before the first race. »
