After training with a Yamaha, after trying to tame a KTM and regaining his health on a Honda, Johann Zarco discovered the Ducati with which he will do this entire 2020 MotoGP season. An important campaign because he no longer has the right to make mistakes while within the Borgo Panigale clan, with a transfer market reduced to nothing after the Yamaha initiatives, there is a card to play to move up in rank. For the moment, the Frenchman is an Avintia pilot who is making his mark. As such, the new symbols adorning his helmet will serve him well...

It will take patience and wisdom to Johann zarco to feel comfortable on the handlebars of a GP19 which has not delivered its instructions for use in this last Friday in Malaysia. The first of three days of testing Sepang, which mark the start of the MotoGP year, finished in a modest tenth position, a respectable distance from the leader and compatriot Quarterly on Yamaha . But the now teammate of Tito Rabat don't panic:

« I completed 54 laps. It wasn't easy and to be honest I expected a little better from myself » says the double Moto2 World Champion. » « I was hoping to be a little faster, but first you have to get your reflexes back, knowing that it's been three or four months since I last rode. »

« The Ducati technicians also constantly told me that there are small habits to adopt with this motorcycle, which has enormous potential! It remains to assimilate certain things, which are not in my nature. But I see that when I start to understand the instructions, there is really a nice progression in terms of timings » reassures the tricolor.

« In my opinion, there could be some nice surprises at the end of the Test. In the meantime, I'm pretty happy. I'm not putting pressure on myself: the winter break was long, it's normal that the beginnings are a little more difficult! » concludes Johann who will do it again on Saturday.
