The transfer market was not only about riders last year, and on the technical director side of each factory, there were also big changes. At Honda, they welcomed the arrival of Romano Albesiano, who served the technical department of Aprilia for about ten years. This signing was welcomed with open arms at the Japanese manufacturer, and according to Luca Marini, his arrival in office has already brought positive things to the factory.

Having arrived at Honda at the dawn of the 2025 season, Romano Albesiano had the opportunity to work for the Japanese factory during the three days of Shakedown. Now it is time for him to continue his efforts, with the three days of Pre-Season Test organized on the same circuit of Sepang, in Malaysia.

In great difficulty, the work to be done at Honda is colossal, but the European engineer has the full confidence of his troops. Whether it is the regular drivers, the test drivers or the other leaders of the brand, all are in favor of the change of mentality that the Italian brings with him.

It seems that things are changing rapidly. At least that's what Luca Marini suggests, delighted by the positive consequences observed after the first days of driving in Malaysia.

“Overall, the first day of testing was positive, but as always, there is a lot of work to do, confides the Italian in Sepang. We mainly compared the new and the old bike to see what the positive points are of each of them and try to find the best possible situation."

"Honda HRC has done a huge job over the winter and Romano Albesiano's presence is already being felt in the garage, He continues. I think everything will continue in this positive direction as we spend more time together."

Another big news for the Transalpine, his chief mechanic. Borrowed from KTM last summer, Christian Pupulin now takes care of the Honda HRC Team rider. Another point of satisfaction after this first day of testing in Malaysia for Luca Marini.

“The way I work with Christian Pupulin, my new team leader, is also positive and we collaborate well on the bike settings. Tomorrow our goal is to continue working on the long list of parts we have to try.” he concluded.
