Fabio Quartararo finished in 11th position during the second day of testing at Sepang, more than seven tenths behind the best time set by Bastianini. Although he faces challenges with his Yamaha, he remains determined to progress. Quartararo noted progress, particularly in terms of top speed, where his M1 reached a record top speed of 338,5 km/h. However, he acknowledges that improvements are needed for fast lap performance, particularly when it comes to qualifying.
Coming down from his Yamaha M1 which he cannot reproach for being slow in a straight line, Fabio Quartararo said : « we still need to improve our fast lap, because we are still missing something ". The Frenchman also cited ongoing issues with his bike's starts and rear grip, which are affecting his performance in the time hunt.

Despite the impressive top speed of the Yamaha , Quarterly emphasizes that improvements are needed to be competitive on a fast lap. He hopes to find solutions during the last day of these tests at Sepang and Qatar.
