If there is one rider who did not regret the showers which disrupted the second day of the MotoGP test in Sepang, it is good Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) who knew how to take advantage of these usually unproductive conditions!

Obviously, this does not show up in today's rankings established in the dry, the new recruit from Mattighofen only appearing in 19th place, but after a somewhat difficult re-acclimatization yesterday, the Australian has already discovered that it could be at least as competitive in the wet as in the past. Which is saying something...

Jack Miller : " It was a very productive afternoon. I haven't played with the settings in the wet but the bike has great potential in the wet, as I saw last year following Miguel. The weak point in the dry becomes its strength in the wet. It's about understanding what it does in the wet, and transferring that to the bike's weakest point, which is acceleration out of corners. Aquaplaning was okay, the bike handled the wet well. I'm not saying the others aren't fast. Any day, any of these guys can win in the wet. But this is one of the areas we are working on. And not only that, we want to be fast in the dry, but having that in our arsenal, if it rains on a Sunday, we're ready to do it! »

The KTM official then described his day chronologically, “ Of course, we would have liked to be higher in the times table, but the day was still very useful for us. I went out first this morning, and the track was greasy, but I tried to get the day going again. Once we were comfortable on the old bike, we switched. I was comfortable, convinced by the direction we were taking. The bike runs really well. There are a few things we need to sort out, which is always the case when it's a brand new engine, but nonetheless it's a very positive step. It's a matter of sorting out the rest of the things. It wasn't all wasted this afternoon, as we tested things that didn't require a dry track. »
