After a first day which marked its return to school, MotoGP continued its work on a track of Sepang which was once again the plaything of the elements. If, here, the rain spoiled the afternoon, it was this time in the morning that the downpour hit. On a slowly drying bitumen promised to be repaired by Dorna, some have come into their own while new technical developments have come to light. Particularly at Yamaha.

Still, at the end of the day it's a Iannone bleeding who achieved the best time. A performance in 1'59 452 better than that of the day before achieved by Casey Stoner who was at rest. He will take the lead again for tomorrow's final, hoping for really mild skies.

The first part of the exercise was marked by a Johann zarco stubborn on an unwelcoming track and which held the top of the timesheet. His teammate Jonas Folger was no worse off, without however dislodging his teammate from Tech3.

Attention at Yamaha which then focused on the official team with a Valentino Rossi equipped with an M1 with a special fairing, already derided by some as equipped with air conditioning. With the Honda stovepipe exhaust, the category takes on the appearance of a heating engineer's shop.

Maverick Viñales, who also tried it, conceded that he was not authorized to speak on the subject. Valentino Rossi either: “They tell me I can’t talk about the new fairing! But honestly and above all, it’s very beautiful! I love it. It doesn't make much difference, but it looks better. So we will continue to use it and try it tomorrow. Then we'll see. »

At the end of the day, Andrea Iannone charged with his Suzuki to take first place in front Maverick Vinales which also drops below a bar of two minutes per lap. A performance narrowly missed by the always excellent Baptist. Valentino Rossi follows the same as Johann zarco, which moves into the top 5.

Hector Barbera is sixth ahead of the two official Ducatis led by Dovizioso in front of a Lorenzo who clings. Folger et Márquez complete the top 10.

If there were no falls yesterday, that was not the case today. Loris Baz et Aleix Espargaro fell, as did Tito Rabat who was taken to hospital for further examination.  Scott Redding et Danilo Petrucci are also on the list, without seriousness.
