Franco Morbidelli achieved a crucial first goal in Thailand on Friday by qualifying directly for Q2. The Pramac Racing rider powered his Ducati Factory GP24 to a promising sixth place, finishing just 0,384 seconds off the fastest time, held by Marc Marquez. For Morbidelli, this starting position is an encouraging sign for qualifying and Saturday’s Sprint Race.

« Enter directly into Q2, This was the main objective on Friday., and we achieved it, " said Morbidely with satisfaction. But the ambition does not stop there for the Italian-Brazilian driver. We are close to the leaders, just three tenths of a second behind first place and in sixth position. Now let's see if we can do even better tomorrow,” he continues.

With the FP2, qualifying and the race Sprint coming, Morbidely does not intend to remain on this relative lead. Adjustments are underway to further refine its Ducati. " I hope we can make some changes that will give us that little extra boost to move forward. Hopefully, these adjustments will allow us to go even faster tomorrow,” he adds.

This start to the weekend marks a resurgence in competitiveness for Morbidely, who finally seems to be finding the right alchemy with his machine. With such tight competition, this strategic position could play a determining role in his final result in Buriram. In the meantime, he remains focused and determined to stay in the leading pack. Franco Morbidelli has ambitions for the rest of the weekend. He wants to make improvements to his bike in order to get even closer to the top.
