It was during MotoGP FP1 that Lin Jarvis spoke with Simon Crafar from the official website MotoGP.com and confirmed that Yamaha had made an offer to Johann Zarco to join the European Test Team.

Lynn Jarvis : “We started our test team last year. I must say that we were a little late. We were probably the last manufacturers to have a European test team, but we want to progress next year so that Japan and Europe can work together more closely, and have the best possible test team. We have always had positive experiences with Johann Zarco, but this season, suddenly and surprisingly, everything was different for him. Now that Zarco is potentially available, he has become very interesting for us, as we have always worked well with him in the past with Tech3. He has the speed and is a current MotoGP rider. So if he's available to try out next year, that could be very, very interesting for us. We talk to him and made him a proposal, and I think we'll know more about whether or not it works by the end of the overseas races. »

Eric de Seynes is obviously not foreign to this proposition which constitutes a excellent news for Johann zarco, even if the subject of possible wildcards is not yet clearly defined.
