The Suzuki rookie had a good qualifying session, finishing ahead of his teammate, and hopes to get a good result tomorrow.

Since the start of the weekend, Joan mir appears very comfortable, more than his teammate yet more experienced than him. Having recently returned from injury, the young Spaniard missed two Grands Prix before making a brilliant comeback at Misano where he finished eighth. Things were a little more complicated in Aragón, where the two Suzukis suffered more in the race and where he could not do better than 14th.

This time, everything seems to be going very well, since he ranked in the top 10 during each of the three free practice sessions, securing an automatic place in Q2. After preparing for his qualification during FP4, he started it strong by registering the third best time on his first flying lap. In the end, he fell back somewhat to rank eighth, but was satisfied.

“I haven’t ridden [in MotoGP] here before, but I feel good” did he declare. “Since my injury, the team and I have worked really hard to come back and finish the season in a positive way, and it looks like it's starting to pay off. We will have to work a little harder in qualifying in the future, but I hope to be able to fight from eighth on the grid. »

Quite rare this year, he will start in front of his teammate, Álex Rins having been unable to do better than tenth, and hopes to take an advantage from this situation: “Alex and I are close in terms of times, we will see if we can ride together in the race. »
