During all the sessions which took place in the dry in preparation for the MotoGP Thailand Grand Prix in Buriram, Jorge Martín had displayed its pretensions to finally qualify in second position only 21/1000 behind Marco Bezzecchi.

This was without counting on rain forecast for the whole weekend, but which was requested and finally appeared on the starting grid of the Chang International Circuit.

In these conditions, with acclimatization strictly reduced to a minimum during the 10 minutes granted by the race management on a wet track, it is easy to think that the hierarchy established during the tests has little value and that certain specialists in exercise will soon be in the spotlight.

This was indeed the case during a race that was delayed but which was nevertheless able to go to its conclusion, at the end of which the Pramac Racing driver was part of the plan of the disappointed, as evidenced by the simple audio sent to journalists after the cancellation of his debriefing.

George Martín : " It was a difficult race. In the final laps, I suffered a lot from a lack of rear grip entering the corners. I still tried to do my best but suffered from the degradation of the rear tire. Overall, I am satisfied with the performances in the dry and I would have had a chance to win the race today. But it was impossible to do so and we have to improve in the wet. Hopefully we can take that step forward in Australia. »
