Formula 1 owner Liberty Media Corporation appears to be moving closer to a potential acquisition of MotoGP World Championship manager Dorna Sports. Negotiations with Bridgepoint are ongoing, and the value of Dorna Sports according to the latter is estimated at 4 billion euros. Bridgepoint appears unwilling to accept an offer lower than that amount, although Dorna Sports has not officially been put up for sale…

Despite this, several players in the audiovisual sector, including streaming platforms such as Amazon, Netflix and Disney, as well as various capital funds such as CVC or KKR, have expressed interest in acquiring Dorna Sports, according to motosan.

This proximity between Liberty Medium and the MotoGP World Championship is not new. Discussions had already taken place in April 2023 to organize a simultaneous MotoGP and Formula 1 Grand Prix, and contacts were made during the opening round of the Motorcycle World Championship in Portimao in March of the same year.

Between Formula 1 and MotoGP, the connections are no longer a secret

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, spoke about the possibility of sale of the MotoGP management company, confirming the rumors while highlighting the numerous calls he receives from credit institutions interested in the operation.
