An unusual and dangerous accident occurred this Saturday at Misano, just before Moto2 practice session 2 of the San Marino Grand Prix. Unai Orradre, replacing Álex Escrig in the Klint Forward team, was involved in a surprising and potentially very serious incident. While in the pit lane, Orradre was forced to avoid a distracted marshal who recklessly crossed his line, causing him to lose control of his bike.
The situation took an even more dramatic turn when the bike, without a rider, swerved and headed straight towards Aprilia's MotoGP garage. One of the team's mechanics, trying to stop the out-of-control machine, suffered minor injuries. Worse still, The motorcycle hit one of Aleix Espargaró's machines, seriously damaging its fairing.
Chaos in Misano « The motorcycle then continued its course, turned left and went straight into Aleix Espargaró's box »
Simon Crafar, pitlane reporter MotoGP, described the scene: “ A marshal came down from the pit wall, not seeing a bike coming due to a large group at the start of the session. Unai Orradre was thrown from his machine while trying to avoid it ».
The one who will succeed Freddie spencer continues: " his motorcycle then continued its race, turned left and went straight into Aleix Espargaró's box. She ripped off the entire side fairing of his bike and slightly injured the hand of one of the mechanics. Fortunately, no one else was seriously injured. »
Although the incident caused property damage and some minor injuries, the worst was avoided. It is a reminder of the ever-present dangers in the pit lane, where a single moment of inattention can have serious consequences.
