The world of MotoGP has once again shown its heart by raising a record sum of €1,6 million to support the victims of the recent floods that hit the Valencia region. This exceptional initiative, called #RacingForValencia, is the result of a collective effort by all the championship stakeholders: riders, teams, partners and fans.

MotoGP has confirmed an impressive total of 1,6 million euros raised for the “Racing for Valencia” recovery fund, thanks to a collective effort involving drivers, teams, partners and fans. This sum comes from various initiatives carried out during the season, particularly during the Barcelona Solidarity Grand Prix, supplemented by an exceptional donation of 1 million euros from Dorna Sports, owner of the commercial rights to MotoGP.

Greater 300 000 € were raised through auctions of unique souvenirs and exclusive experiences offered by drivers and teams. The generosity of The IRTA association added €100, while the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce contributed €50 additional.

Fans also played a crucial role through the purchase of tickets for the Grand Prix, special t-shirts and derivative products, contributing directly to the initiative. Faced with this surge of solidarity, Dorna Sports has decided to increase its total donation to 1 million euros.

The Barcelona Solidarity Grand Prix closed the 2024 season on a special note, highlighting the spirit of solidarity that drives MotoGP. The event was also allowed to distinguish the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, voted Best GP of the 2024 season for its remarkable organization.

The funds raised will be invested in the towns of Cheste and Chiva, the towns closest to the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, which usually benefit from the economic benefits of the last Grand Prix of the season. Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, visited both municipalities to announce the donation and thank their residents for their continued support.

The initiative " Racing for Valencia " is a testament to MotoGP's commitment to having a positive impact in the regions that host the championship. Riders, teams, fans and partners have proven that racing is not just about speed, but also about solidarity and mutual support.

With this unprecedented mobilization, MotoGP has shown that the spirit of competition can go hand in hand with a deep social commitment. For all those who participated, on the circuit or remotely, one thing is certain: they were actors in an extraordinary moment.
