After Team Pedercini experienced financial uncertainty due to problems with its main sponsor, Savadori held advanced discussions to become a test rider for Aprilia in MotoGP. But a certain Max Biaggi perhaps doesn't see things that way.

Born on April 4, 1993, Lorenzo has just finished sixteenth in the MotoE World Cup aboard an Energica Ego Corsa. After finishing second in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2007, he won the Italian 2008GP Championship and the 125cc European Championship in 125, before debuting in the 3cc World Championship. He raced in this category for two seasons before moving, in 125, to the FIM Superstock 2011 Cup, of which he was Champion in 1000.

In 2019 he finished second in the Italian Superbike Championship on Aprilia behind Michele Pirro.

This year, Savadori signed for ride at Pedercini in WSBK, but financial considerations scuttled the project. “My manager Fausto Gresini confirmed to me in December the news that there were no longer any guarantees and certainties regarding participation in the Superbike World Championship, Savadori explained. I can't go into details, but the fact is that a few problems arose. Receiving this news for me was a big blow. »

The time had come to consider another opportunity. “ With Fausto we tried to understand how to manage this situation and therefore what direction to take. For me the priority is to race and Gresini tried to better understand the situation despite the little time available. »

There would have been talk of a possibility with Ducati to replace Camier at Barni. “Of course, I do not deny that I would be very happy, because Barni is a solid and important structure with great ambitions. For now, though, I'm not sure yet. I know that Fausto is working, but there are no definitive and concrete negotiations at the moment. The priority I have is to run. I only want one thing in me, to run. Unfortunately it is January, all the saddles are practically occupied. »

Romano Albesiano said that if Iannone was not to start with Aprilia, Savadori would represent a Plan B as a test rider. “ As for Iannone's story which I haven't read and can't judge, I hope Andrea can resolve it for the better. Thanks anyway to Romano, it would be a great honor for me to drive the Aprilia. MotoGP is the dream of every child who loves riding motorcycles since childhood. For me it would be a new adventure, as it was also a new adventure when I started SBK after Stock. The only thing I can say is that if I was called upon, I would give everything to be up to the task. » This is where a certain biaggi" I heard about it. What can I say ? Max is a champion and we need very few words to describe his talent. For Aprilia this would be a fantastic rider. Just in case, I hope there would be an Aprilia for both. » What if a Superbike suddenly became available? Would it be complicated to only start in January? " Not that much. I say this because there are still three tests before the start of the season and so there is still a lot of time to find the right sensations with the bike. »
