MotoGP: The uncertain future of Lorenzo Savadori between Aprilia, Barni Ducati and Pedercini

After Team Pedercini experienced financial uncertainty due to problems with its main sponsor, Savadori held advanced discussions to become a test rider for Aprilia in MotoGP. But a certain Max Biaggi perhaps doesn't see things that way.

Born on April 4, 1993, Lorenzo has just finished sixteenth in the MotoE World Cup aboard an Energica Ego Corsa. After finishing second in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2007, he won the Italian 2008GP Championship and the 125cc European Championship in 125, before debuting in the 3cc World Championship. He raced in this category for two seasons before moving, in 125, to the FIM Superstock 2011 Cup, of which he was Champion in 1000.

In 2019 he finished second in the Italian Superbike Championship on Aprilia behind Michele Pirro.

This year, Savadori signed for ride at Pedercini in WSBK, but financial considerations scuttled the project. “My manager Fausto Gresini confirmed to me in December the news that there were no longer any guarantees and certainties regarding participation in the Superbike World Championship, Savadori explained.
