Without a circuit, organizing a race is impossible. Appearing at the end of the 70th century, permanent routes reserved for racing developed quite late. For a long time, road circuits were legion, even at the highest level. In more than XNUMX years of existence, the world motorcycle speed championship has passed through an impressive number of circuits, sometimes for just one edition. Together, let's try to name the ten most important circuits in the history of the championship.

This ranking, like that listing Yamaha and Honda riders, aims to retain “greatness”, importance throughout history. So, for a route to be retained, it is better that it has been on the calendar for several decades. We are sorry, the creations ofHermann Tilke do not fit into the selection in any way.

History is the key word. Important events influence the reputation of a circuit, and it is for this same reason that a circuit closing the championship is more likely to end up in a good position at the end of the day.

The pilots' speech is also very important. The quality of the track, the turns and the design of the circuit in general are factors considered. This top 10 is of course subjective, and we encourage you to give your opinion in the comments! All will be read with rigor.

Last little clarification: this is in the motorcycling context only. THE Nurburgring is a myth, already trodden in motorcycle Grands Prix. However, he did not leave the same mark as in Formula 1, although intrinsically brilliant.

Before getting to the heart of the matter, let's look at the honorable mentions, as usual. These are great tracks but not enough to make the top ten. Le Mans narrowly misses out on access to the top ten places. First used in 1969, today it is a must-see on the calendar.

De Barry Sheenand Jorge Lorenzo, the best triumphed over the Bugatti. The route itself is very interesting, presenting differences in altitude, right angles and curves. Certain turns offer the possibility of using two different trajectories, which makes it a track very popular with drivers.

The rain, sometimes, even often, is present, adds spice and celebrates surprise pilots, like Chris Vermeulen in 2007. Unfortunately, it was not imposed annually until the year 2000, which is little compared to others. Indeed, French Grand Prix also rhymes with Paul Ricard.

Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli is also a championship classic, but too often involved in tragic accidents (1993, 2010) and other adventures (1989) to be retained. It is necessary to cite Anderstorp, in Sweden, just like Hockenheim, another prominent German battlefield.

The circuit of Dunrod, just like the Sachsenring, Silverstone et Donington Park Must also be mentioned, mythical jousting theaters. The case of the Brno circuit is quite special. There are no less than 51 appearances (!), but his recent unpopularity coupled with the lack of notable moments do not allow him to appear in the final selection.

Let’s roll up our sleeves and get going! Starting tomorrow, places no. 10 and no. 9 in this top will be revealed.
