Troy Bayliss appreciates current MotoGP

Australian Troy Bayliss is a three-time retired WSBK World Champion, one of whose greatest achievements dates back to 2006 on the Valencia track. We were then at the end of the MotoGP season and, in a meeting as a guest, the then freshly titled in WSBK had the luxury of dominating the entire field of the category to take a resounding victory. Now retired, and still affectionately attached to the Ducati brand, he gives his opinion on today's MotoGP, based on what he saw in Qatar...

Troy bayliss is a driver who left good memories, particularly for the brand Ducati. The Australian's heart continues to beat for the Borgo Panigale factory. Giving his opinion to Moto sprint on the two Grands Prix which opened the season at Qatar, he does not fail to speak of the Italian coat of arms that he served so brilliantly: “ they didn't win but they did a good job in Borgo Panigale said Troy, explaining that he didn't see much difference between the factory team and the team Pramac. " I don't think there is much difference between the two teams, the only difference is the money involved... Of course the factory teams want to win, everyone wants to win, but there was still a Desmosedici in front, so it's not so serious » he said.

Troy Bayliss: “really good and close races”

No doubt it is not at this stage of the season, but if this continues, perhaps a reflection will arise at Ducati… Especially since the level in MotoGP really tightened up. It will be recalled that the Doha Grand Prix was recorded as the most closely fought in history with less than nine seconds separating the top 15 at the finish.

A situation which thus makes people react Troy Bayliss : " MotoGP is becoming more and more competitive, the riders are closer and closer to each other. It's starting to look more like a Moto2 or Moto3 race ". He specifies : " I think it comes from a mix of regulations, more competitive riders and equality between the bikes. It's a combination that makes racing really good and close » Troy rejoices.

It is in this context that Marc Marquez will make his return. To be above the fray or to fight like a ragpicker? This will be followed this weekend in Portimao…
