Always with the greatest discretion, Valentino Rossi does not hesitate to support good causes, such as he did it recently with the Marche Nord hospital during the coronavirus crisis.

This time, it is the SOS Pesaro committee which auctions various objects collected from local athletes to help families in need. The VR46 is obviously present there, among other things with a fairing side trimmed with Luca marini and a twisted exhaust Pecco Bagnaia, but also with a helmet autographed by the Doctor.

Priced a few days ago at 300 euros, the headgear bearing the decoration of the 2016 tests in Malaysia has still not reached 1000 euros on the eve of the closing of the auction.

Surprising, no, for an object supposed to be coveted by all fans?

Pas tant que ça, puisque, d’après la photo, il ne s’agit que d’une réplique et non d’un “vrai” casque porté par le pilote Yamaha lui-même. Les fans italiens ne s’y sont pas trompés…

Apart from the fact that in this case it is not a Pista GP, there is generally a simple way to tell the difference between a replica and its original model, whatever the brand of helmet: energy drinks that sponsor drivers generally do not allow their logo to be reproduced on replicas... Which does not mean that you just need to put the logos on to make a real one!

We know the Italian champion's attachment to his personal belongings, this could explain this, and the important thing is of course that it is a gesture for a good cause.

Here is the helmet worn in Malaysia:
