wages

The salaries of MotoGP riders is a subject which always has its share of mystery since, unlike other disciplines where everything is revealed in public, here it is a matter of confidentiality. Estimates are nevertheless made and here is one which may surprise with this impression in particular: it is not because you are one of the fastest that you are better paid. And vice versa.

The 2023 MotoGP season dedicated a Pecco Bagnaia who, by confirming his world crown acquired last year, has thereby become the equal of Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez. But even if he finds himself in these excellent companies, the fact remains that the official Ducati is only fifth in the hierarchy of pilots in terms of annual salary.

The site motograndprix has established, according to its sources, a hierarchy which is striking in certain aspects. Certainly, it confirms that Marc Marquez gave up a big check when leaving Honda for Ducati Gresini, but the position of Maverick Vinales can be debated as the difference in emoluments between Pecco Bagnaia and his teammate Enea Bastianini which would be far from the purchasing power of George Martin at Pramac. This, while Ducati always swore that the contracts between the Bestia and the Martinator were identical from this point of view.
