After his blunder in Aragón, Takaaki Nakagami got back on track after rain made conditions tricky on the first day of free practice for the European Grand Prix.

The wet and windy conditions did not allow the MotoGP category to express itself with serenity, but the LCR Honda rider still managed to place himself in fourth position during FP2 to stay well in the race before the Saturday session.

After taking pole position in Aragón, Takaaki Nakagami had to manage the conditions of a wet surface during the first free practice session on the Ricardo Tormo circuit to finally finish in 11th position. Although there were still some wet spots on the asphalt during FP2, “Taka” progressed throughout the session and finished the day just three tenths behind the day's leader, Jack Miller.

Confidence is gradually being rebuilt…

Takaaki Nakagami : " Today, the two sessions were very delicate. In the first test session it rained and we tried to stay on the track and get more feedback on the bike, which is good. The second session was in mixed conditions, some corners were very wet and very tricky. In the end, lap by lap, I improved my driving style, adapted to these conditions and we finished in P4, which is good. The performance was quite competitive throughout the session and we are heading in the right direction. I hope we can maintain this performance tomorrow and the main thing is to stay in the top 10 during FP3 and then go through to Q2. »
