Exceptionally, Johann Zarco did not hold his usual debriefing at the end of a Valencian Community Grand Prix which saw him start from fourth position before falling at the start of the sixth lap.

We do not know the reasons for the cancellation of this traditional meeting but perhaps it is linked to the charter flights that Dorna has planned this evening and tomorrow morning to take the majority of the paddock to Portimão.

In any case, already changed, the French pilot had the time to briefly speak at the microphone of Canal+.

Johann zarco : “I wasn’t annoyed. Clearly, Rins passed me but I was quite happy to have a good engine and to be able to regain the advantage on the straight. At the start of the race, I was in difficulty. The speed I was hoping for was not there. Entering the first corner was really complicated: I don't know if the wind that picked up was felt more but it was difficult to manage to slow down to enter the corner. My braking wasn't violent at all but I think I probably should have gotten in a little faster. Usually, it doesn't fall, but here, I fell. So I'm disappointed not to finish the race. I really wanted to do well but I was in a bit of difficulty. I was hoping I could prove better. Was the choice of this front tire, which was very good last week, less good today given the pace and the fact that it was hotter? Maybe medium would have been better, like Miller did. So a little doubt about the tire, and disappointed. »

In his press release, the French pilot specifies “Disappointed by the fall, it was at the start of the race when I wasn't pushing hard, the front wheel slipped away and I couldn't avoid anything. This weekend I was competitive in every training session and was hoping to have a good race. I felt very strong, I thought the podium could happen today, but we will try in the last race of the year. »
