This Thursday, November 11, 2021, Alex Marquez answered questions from journalists from the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste (Valencia), as a prelude to the Valencian Community Grand Prix.

We went to listen (via teleconferencing software) to the words of the Spanish driver, author of his best result of the season during the last round in Portugal, with a fourth place.

As usual, we report here the words of Alex Marquez without the slightest formatting.

Álex, you are coming off a very good performance in Portugal, where you finished fourth and perhaps could have finished on the podium if there had not been a red flag. But overall, it was your best weekend of the season, and we imagine you happy to have been able to take a step forward in terms of competitiveness, you and Honda…

« I actually think that we were able to have a very good weekend overall in Portimão, particularly during free practice, not to mention qualifying. Joan Mir explained that starting from the first row of the grid changed a lot of things [the Suzuki rider indeed started for the first time in his career from the first row of the grid last week in Portugal], but I can tell you that starting from the third row of the grid when you usually struggle to qualify for Q2 is also life-changing. »

« It's life-changing, especially if you then manage to get a good start and get into the top 5. In this sense, last week we were able to follow the leading riders and show a very good pace, and that's the most important thing. Furthermore, I must say that finishing the season here in Valencia is always a great pleasure, because it is my home Grand Prix, and with all the fans present in the stands it will be great. »

« This weekend will also be a good test for us to see if we are going in the right direction, and to assess how much we have progressed since last year here. We really have the opportunity to end the year in style, so it will be a special weekend, and we will give 100% from FP1 to try to repeat the performance we achieved in Portimão. »
