This Thursday, November 11, 2021, Franco Morbidelli answered questions from journalists from the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste (Valencia), as a prelude to the Valencian Community Grand Prix.

We went to listen (via teleconferencing software) to the words of the Italian-Brazilian driver, who currently occupies 17th place in the championship.

As usual, we report here the words of Franco Morbidelli without the slightest formatting.

Franco, this season has essentially been about managing your physical recovery following your injury. Can you tell us how far you have progressed compared to your expectations on this point? Are you far from being back at 100% of your abilities?

« It's progressing very well, even if of course the competition tends to slow down my recovery a little, especially when I find myself in situations like those of this weekend where we do two races a week apart. So things are going in the right direction, and I have to keep in mind that it's an injury that takes time to heal. So it's a good thing to have been able to get back on track before next season. »

How will it feel to ride next year without the presence of Valentino Rossi on the track?

« What is certain is that it is something that I will not be aware of on the bike! But I imagine that once I get off this one the feeling I will have will be a little bitter. It's going to be weird not having this sporting legend and friend in the paddock anymore. Yes, I would be bitter, so I'll try not to think about it too much. »

“Bitterness at the idea of Valentino’s departure”

It’s still going to be a weekend full of emotions…

« Once again this will indeed be the case once you get off the bike. But I'm going to try not to think about it too much because there's not really room for feelings when you're involved in a race weekend. »

« We have a lot of time to work, a lot of time to answer questions from journalists, but ultimately little time to be moved. If I remember all these moments spent on the track with Valentino, I only think of great stories, and the fact of having evolved alongside an incredible person. At the moment if I think about it it gives me a lot of nostalgia. »
