This Thursday, November 11, 2021, Joan mir answered questions from journalists from the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste (Valencia), as a prelude to the Valencian Community Grand Prix.

We went to listen (via teleconference software) to the words of the Spanish driver, currently in third position in the championship, and who returns this weekend to the scene of his only victory in the premier category, as well as his title obtained last year .

As usual, we report here the words of Joan Mir without the slightest formatting.

Joan, your performance last week in Portugal undoubtedly boosted your morale, and it is also a good step towards the 2022 season. How are you going to approach this last round in Valencia, knowing that you will have won what is still your only victory in MotoGP so far, as well as your title last year of course?

« I probably had one of the best times of my life here last year, so it's obviously a very special place for me. I was very competitive last year, and I think this year, especially at the end of the season, we showed ourselves at our best, so I hope the bike will work well here. »

« If so, then we can enjoy ourselves, which is the key after all. In Portimão we started with a very good base from FP1, and then session after session I was able to be even more competitive and feel better and better with the bike. So we're going to try to reproduce that here. It will also be important to understand whether our good performance in qualifying at Portimão was ultimately just a blip, or whether we will be able to repeat this performance on another circuit, this weekend in Valencia. »

Last year you had an incredible weekend here, but this year you are still chasing your first success of the season. Does this put more pressure on you to finish the exercise in style?

« Not particularly, but of course I want this victory. This season has been more difficult than we expected. We cannot say that it was a bad season, but it is clear that this one was more difficult. But maybe we'll have a chance here to fight for victory. The pressure is always there, for one reason or another, but we always enjoy that pressure. »
