This Friday, November 12, 2021, Jack Miller answered questions from journalists from the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste (Valencia), at the end of the first day of the Valencian Community Grand Prix.

We went to listen (via teleconferencing software) to the words of the Australian driver, author of the absolute best time this Friday in Spain.

As usual, we report here the words of Jack Miller without the slightest formatting.

Jack, this morning you seemed very fast in the wet, but what caused your fall?

« I had no way of avoiding the fall. I entered the corner knowing I was going to go wide, but I wasn't really on the attack because it was only FP1. I didn't angle too much, but as soon as I touched the brakes it was like I was driving on ice. »

« There was a lot of standing water there, but I hadn't seen anything before my accident. This definitely took me by surprise, and I wasn't ready for it. It wasn't a big accident, but having that kind of warning is never good, however I managed to put it behind me to set the best time in the afternoon. »

The results during FP2 were much more positive, what were your feelings in the afternoon?

« I had good feelings, I felt that I could attack as I wanted. Of course there is still work to be done on the bike, because in terms of balance it was not that good. I think tomorrow we will try to return to our basic settings from this season rather than trying to reinvent the wheel. For the rest I had fun riding here as usual. I like Valencia, I like the challenges that this track offers, and it's also an interesting place from a technical point of view on the bike. »

The track has not been resurfaced for almost ten years, the last time it was in 2012. What is your opinion on the condition of the track?

« There are quite a few cracks in the tarmac. In turn 10 there are several cracks, and I believe this is also the case in turn 2. The track clearly needs to be resurfaced. »
