This Saturday, November 13, 2021, Jorge Martín answered questions from journalists from the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste (Valencia), at the end of the second day of the Valencian Community Grand Prix.

We went to listen (via teleconference software) to the words of the Spanish driver, author of pole position this Saturday.

As usual, we report here the words of Jorge Martín without the slightest formatting.

Jorge, you declared at Parc Fermé that you were confident, even before qualifying, that you could achieve this pole position, and in the end you achieved this objective. Tell us about your tour!

« From FP3 this morning I felt very confident, even though I made a few mistakes. I was indeed very close to the outposts. FP4 was a little weirder in the sense that we tried hard and the result was pretty average. »

« In this sense we are not yet sure which tire we are going to use tomorrow. As usual we took a lot of risks during qualifying. I must say that this is not an easy track because the track is atypical and the grip is not exceptional. So I took risks at every lap, at every turn, and in the end I managed to achieve this time. »

« I'm happy, it's a good performance, the bike works well. As you can see all the Ducatis are well placed here. So I think that tomorrow will be a great battle, and that we have the necessary pace to fight for the podium. »

You have the opportunity to become Rookie of the Year tomorrow, despite your absence from four Grands Prix this year. Is this your absolute goal this weekend? After all you have won here in Moto3 and Moto2 in the past…

« Tomorrow it's obvious that it's going to be very important to win the Rookie of the Year title, it's important. We must therefore finish in front of Enea Bastianini. I think if we finish the race then we will be in front, because we have the pace to challenge for the podium. »

« Afterwards, it is clear that the official Ducatis are also very strong, and that we will have to keep an eye on Joan Mir, Álex Rins and Johann Zarco. But I think we have a good rhythm, and we are ready for the battle that lies ahead. »

Pecco Bagnaia and you have taken ten of the 11 pole positions signed by Ducati this season. This weekend we are on a track where the Borgo Panigale brand has encountered many difficulties in the past, and despite this four Ducatis are in the top 5 at the end of qualifying. In these conditions, are there still any defects on the GP21?

« It's difficult to say, all I see is that when releasing the brakes the behavior of the bike in corners is not ideal. That's my opinion anyway. We have some difficulties entering corners, but overall we have a very stable machine, a very good bike in all areas so to speak. »
