This last race of the year in Valencia will not go down in history for  Franco Morbidelli, quite the contrary… The pilot Yamaha petronas did not see the finish line, going to bite the dust 14 laps from the goal…

« I'm a little sad because I had a good rhythm », regretted the 24-year-old pilot. “ At the start of the race, I struggled to get a good feeling on the bike. When I got into a good rhythm, I was then able to catch up with the others. On my dashboard I saw that my front tire was quite cold. Either I had the choice between slowing down and continuing to push, hoping that the tire would quickly warm up. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case and I crashed in turn 4, simply because the front tire was too cold." mentioned the upset Italian pilot.

At the time of his fall, Morbidely was only a tiny 2,5 seconds behind the leaders, believing that he was capable of taking the podium. “ Too bad, because it was a good race, I wanted to aim for the podium. I almost closed the gap”, declared the teammate of Fabio Quartararo who for his part climbed onto the 2nd step of the podium.« We must make further progress. But the weekend went well » he concluded however bitterly.

In the world championship rankings Franco Morbidelli finished 10th with 115 points.
