The nine-time world champion finally tested his Yamaha R1 GYTR VR46 Tribute on track, a gift from Iwata after his retirement. This happened last week in Misano, where he also tested a new model of Dainese suit made and decorated to measure and in harmony with his bike.

He retired from MotoGP and moved to four wheels, but Valentino Rossi will never give up motorcycling. His ranch continues to be used regularly by the nine-time world champion, as does the Misano circuit, where he recently donned his suit again to debut a spectacular special edition Yamaha R1.

On the occasion of his retirement, Yamaha gave him a special commemorative R1, designed by Aldo Drudi, his inseparable helmet designer and close friend of “Il Dottore”. This model was even presented at the EICMA in Milan. The sports car was called Yamaha R1 GYTR VR46 Tribute and it was not a road-legal R1, but a model practically derived from World Superbike.

Carbon fiber fairing, Brembo brakes, Ohlins suspensions, Akrapovic exhaust, REX 140 Marelli ECU control unit, 22 liter tank… This special edition for Valentino Rossi no longer had the luxury of detail. And of course, the decoration was totally in the image of the Italian pilot, with an exquisite combination of blue, yellow and black created by Aldo Drudi.

All that remained was to see Valentino Rossi on the track and that's what happened last week, during which the Italian driver had the pleasure of testing this R1 at Misano. To do this, he also had a suit made to measure by Dainese and decorated in harmony with the motorcycle, as well as the AGV Pista GP RR helmet. In the case of the suit, in addition, Rossi tested a new model that the Italian firm is developing.

“The other day I went to Misano to test my new R1 and my new Dainese suit. Both work very well,” commented Valentino Rossi on his social networks.
